ABUKO

When the charity first took on the challenge of Abuko Nursery School, 217 children were educated in one room with no desks, chairs or educational equipment. There are now four fully renovated classrooms with all the necessary furniture, educational toys and teaching supplies that the school needs.

The school was in desperate need of updating and this was made possible in June of 2009 by several students from Atlantic College in Wales. They did a fantastic job and we are very grateful for their support. The newly painted classrooms look fabulous and as the pictures below show, the students really enjoyed the experience.

The upkeep of the Nursery is now maintained by Abuko village and running water has recently been installed within the school grounds.
