GIFT AID EXPLAINED: In order for Children of the Gambia charity to reclaim the tax you have paid on your donation(s) you must have paid UK income tax and/or capital gains tax equal to the tax that will be claimed (currently 28p for every £1 you give).

EXAMPLE:  if you give £10 to Children of the Gambia, HM Revenue & Customs will add £2.82, bringing the total donation to £12.82.

Children of the Gambia Charity

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

COTG charity was founded in 1998 and our aim is to work with children, their families and communities to build/renovate schools and provide the children of Gambia with free education and an improved quality of life.

LONDON to BANJUL 2009/10

Dan Nusi and his friends are attempting to drive from London to Banjul Gambia, in aid of raising funds for our charity; the journey will take them across the Sahara Desert, a total distance of 4038 miles. We are very grateful to Dan and his friends and wish them every success on this gruelling journey.

KUSALANG

Kusalang Nursery School is situated in the bush, a 10 hour drive from our base in Serrekunda. This area is a farming community and the region is very dry and arid, money is very scarce

PARACHUTE JUMP

 

Tracey Blackman has raised £502.50 by jumping from a plane, on 25th January she successfully succeeded in performing a tandem parachute jump, well done and thank you Tracey and to all the people that sponsored her. The money raised will go towards the building of our new school in Kusalang.

EVEREST CLIMB

Heather Timm successfully climbed to Everest Base Camp at a height of 5545m and raised £1877.00 for our charity, thank you Heather and to all the people who sponsored her, this money will go towards the new school to be built at Kusalang.
