FUTURE PROJECTS
On average a teachers pay is £35.00 per month, we are looking for people to sponsor a teachers wage for one month. This amount divided over 12 months is equivalent to £2.91 per month or 72p per week. The cost of a bar of chocolate!
Kusalang Village Nursery School is situated in the bush, a 10 hour drive from our base in Serrekunda. This area is a farming community and the region is very dry and arid, money is scarce and children from this area had never had an education. After building this school with one classroom, toilets and small kitchen we discovered that children from seven villages surrounding Kusalang wanted to attend which meant the original building was not adequate. We are at present rebuilding a larger school with three classrooms, a new kitchen, and adequate toilets for attendance by all children in the area, our aim is to have this completed by the end of 2011.
It is important for us to point out that our charity is run by volunteers
and all monies collected goes directly to the children of Gambia
