Kusalang is situated in the bush, a 10 hour drive from our base in Serrekunda. This area is a farming community and the region is very dry and arid, money is very scarce. By building this school in 2002, we were able to provide schooling for children from seven surrounding villages. Prior to this, there was no education for these children. We now have two dedicated teachers working at the school, their salaries are paid for by the charity. In November 2004 we were able to build a kitchen as well as a much needed storeroom for the teachers. We will continue to support this school and further improvement is still essential.
Worked started on our new school in January 2011, the toilets where finished May of this year and we are now in the progress of building the new school.
